Note historique | Adam JAKEŠ, modéliste tchèque amateur d'avions à moteur caoutchouc, nous donne quelques informations sur Mirko MUSIL : I have found this short article about Karoro II designer in an old czech magazine about flying „Letectvi a kosmonautika“ no. 20/1981. Yes, this article is about Karoro II designer – Mirko Musil. Mirek, Mirko, Miroslav is the same first name in czech. This article is in czech (of course), some summary: · Mirko started with aeromodelling in 1934 · Two years later he started gliding training (training prepared Aeromodelling club from Liben) · Before WWII he was A class pilot of gliders (elementary level) · During WWII, he couldn´t fly (flying for czechs was prohibited for czechs), so he started building models again (Karoro II is model from this era) · After WWII he started study on CVUT (Czech technical university), aviation of course · His first job after university was in Aero factory as a designer. His first chief was Mr. Benes. Mr. Benes was a famous designer of czech pre-war fighter planes (for example Avia BH-3 - http://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/BH-3 – type B in name of this plane means Benes) · His first own design was a Meta Sokol (http://techmag.valka.cz/let_l_l40.htm) · After war he was silver C glider pilot and he was glider trainer too. · As a designer of planes, he collaborated (for example) on next planes: o VT-16 Orlik (http://www.aeroklub-novezamky.sk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=67&Itemid=76) o L-13 Blanik (http://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Let_L-13_Blan%C3%ADk) o M-17 Universal |
