NOTES
Note historique | AMA Hall of Famer Claude McCullough designed the Fledgling, a free flight model created for the then-new 1/2A class in 1950. The Fledgling is a conventional "pylon" model with one notable design characteristic: the wing airfoil is quite thin, and the wing and horizontal stabilizer are sparless. This approach was likely sufficient for the "mild" performance .049 glow engines of the early 1950s (an OK Cub .049 is shown on the plans), but wing failure would be highly probable if the design was recreated using modern, high-revving 0.049 engines. | Remarques | -- | Sources infos | Flying Models, janvier 1950 |
